's “Be Neighborly”
$2,500 Scholarship's core mission is to strengthen communities and families. Founded on the desire to increase the income of middle-class Americans around the country, Neighbor wants to help inspire the rising generation to look for opportunities to strengthen their own community and "Be Neighborly".

“Be Neighborly” Scholarship is excited to award one $2,500 scholarship to either a current, first-year, undergraduate student or an incoming freshman pursuing higher education within the United States.

Applicants are required to fill out the scholarship application, attach a current school transcript, and submit an essay about how the applicant has influenced or changed their community for the better through service.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be either currently enrolled or planning to enroll at an accredited undergraduate college or university in the 2019-2020 school year.

Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Applicants must agree to Neighbor’s official scholarship rules and submit a complete application before the submission deadline.

How to Apply

A valid application is submitted before the submission deadline and is comprised of the following: (1) a completed application; (2) an essay; and (3) an academic transcript.


1. Completed Scholarship Application

Submit the application with all fields filled.

2. Scholarship Contest Essay

Write a 1,000-1,500 word essay that explains how you have influenced or changed your neighborhood for the better through service. Winning submissions will demonstrate creativity, appropriately cite sources (if necessary), and express the original and unique personal thoughts and opinions of the applicant. Attach essay to the application form.

3. Academic Transcript

Submit a copy of your most recent academic transcript within the application form. (Note: If you are a graduating high school senior, please provide a copy of your high school transcript.)

Essay Requirements

Essays must be written in English.

Essays must be between 1,000-1,500 words in length.

Essays must be submitted as a PDF or Microsoft Word document.

Essays must include applicant's name.

Essays must be 100% original work.

Essays must be attached to the scholarship application.


The completed application, essay, and transcript must be submitted before 11:59 pm MST on March 15th, 2019.

The winner will be announced by April 15th, 2019 and will be notified via email.
